Mary has had several positions in education and healthcare. She worked with the IT Help Desk for the special education teachers in St. Vrain Valley School District. Most recently, she was with Centura Longmont United Hospital (LUH) as a Unit Clerk at the BirthPlace. Her favorite part at LUH was working with the hospital staff and meeting patient’s families.
Midwife Care - Our midwives are independent board certified Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who provide comprehensive midwifery services. We work within a setting that supports referrals to University of Colorado and Centura Longmont United Hospital experts to ensure that you get the best care possible.
Water Birth - We are the only hospital in Northern Colorado to offer water births and are part of a system that has been providing this option for Colorado families since the 1990s.
Nitrous Oxide - We are part of the Centura Longmont United Hospital system that was the 1st to provide nitrous oxide as a labor support tool.
Versatility - We pride ourselves in providing the opportunity for you to have the labor and birth experience you are envisioning. We support a birth without pain medications or a birth with a planned epidural.
History - We are part of a family of CNMs that have been in existence for over 40 years at the University of Colorado!
The CU Center for Midwifery - Longmont is proud to be part of many health insurance networks, including eligible Medicare and Medicare advantage plans. Please view our accepted insurance plans.
Please contact your insurance carrier to verify if our providers are participating in your health insurance plan.

"Absolutely loved my experience with these midwives. They empowered me and equipped me to have a beautiful water birth in the hospital. I am so grateful for their care leading up to and through our birth story of our sweet little boy!"
"I have loved everything about my experience with the wonderful women at the Center for Midwifery. Throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, each of the midwives and Suzanne have been kind, attentive, and they make you feel comfortable and heard. The office was always calming and I never had to wait to be seen. And being a first time mom, I found comfort in the care of the midwives paired with the hospital setting for giving birth. I liked knowing that I could decide to use any pain management from water birth to nitrous to epidural without judgement, but I ended up having a completely natural, beautiful water birth that exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend the Center for Midwifery!"
