ABOUT US

Welcome to CU Center for Midwifery

We're excited to announce that our team will be joining the UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital family.

Our midwives have over 45 years of combined experience to provide the best care possible for our families. We pride ourselves in providing care that is rooted in the midwifery model of care and guided by the most recent evidence. We can also assist with Spanish families. We are faculty members at the University of Colorado College of Nursing where our mission revolves around education, service, and research.

"My care is based on the midwifery model. I strive to listen to and empower women in their health. I believe in educating women and their families, and shared decision making in their care. It is important that I provide options such as waterbirth and nitrous to women. "

"I believe that a life-long partnership with women through the midwifery model of care leads to healthier families and communities. My goal is to develop a respectful relationship built on trust with all women in my care. I find myself constantly inspired by the individualized strength and power of women in every birth."

"I am passionate about supporting health and healing through providing a supportive birth experience, personal connection, shared decision-making, open communication, empowerment, and evidence-based care. I believe in gentle support and quiet listening, guidance when needed and the innate belief that human bodies have their own wisdom. I believe it is a privilege and an honor to serve my community in such a nurturing way."

What makes us unique?

Midwife Care  -  Our midwives are independent board certified Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who provide comprehensive midwifery services. We work within a setting that supports referrals to University of Colorado and Centura Longmont United Hospital experts to ensure that you get the best care possible.

Water Birth - We are the only hospital in Northern Colorado to offer water births and are part of a system that has been providing this option for Colorado families since the 1990s.

Nitrous Oxide - We are part of the Centura Longmont United Hospital system that was the 1st to provide nitrous oxide as a labor support tool.

Versatility - We pride ourselves in providing the opportunity for you to have the labor and birth experience you are envisioning. We support a birth without pain medications or a birth with a planned epidural.

History - We are part of a family of CNMs that have been in existence for over 40 years at the University of Colorado!
